I am right in the midst of outlining my true desire for coaching and where I want to fit. It includes taking a hard look at my pricing and why I have always struggled with it. I went from an $8/hour job to setting my own prices well over $40/hour and I think my head still has not caught onto my real value. This article came just in time, thank you!

Thanks for this post. I think pricing is such a sensitive issue in business but I’m realising now more than ever that as business owners we need to price based on the value or our services/products. For instance, If you’re high in demand then you really have no choice in most instances but to increase prices whilst increasing or maintaining value. Thanks for a great post!

I am brand spanking new to this medium. I started making jewelery five years ago and have not stopped! Now I want to start selling my creations. I have found that my biggest problem with pricing the items is perception. When the economy “tanked”, my move from San Francisco to Jackson County, Oregon coincided. Jackson County has recently earned the rating as the 5th poorest place in the entire USA. I used to earn $70K a year when I lived and worked in San Francisco but now consider myself lucky to earn $15/hour part time. How can I better understand the reality of the economy when I live in an extremely impoverished bubble? It has to have an effect on my pricing decisions and I don’t want to under rate my work.
