this is so interesting!

when we started our blog and shop about a month ago, every detail was centered around a story. we invented a fictional shop owner, Mademoiselle Thé Dansant, a young woman that by inheriting her grandmothers fortune could quit het dayjob at a florist and travel around the world in search of pretty treasures. we, her little minions, two sisters living in ghent, belgium, would be responsible for the daily sores of keeping an online shop.
the whole story behind our shop was intended to recall a dreamy, happy, simple life style. our goal is to give our readers/customers a teaspoon of all that niceness every single day.

we are so looking forward to read your new e-book, and to see more of your ideas and experiences with this matter! :)

bonne journée!

I would really love to know more about this. Lately I have thought of doing something like this - making up little stories to describe my photos or something like that. Then I thought maybe instead of it being clever and different it would just sound stupid. So, I'm just gonna do it anyway.

Hi Tara,
Great topic at the core of why we buy handmade. When I started my business I asked myself what people really loved and the answer was, something personalized and something that would make new memories.I identified my cloth books with celebrating individuality by saying "Every child's story begins with a name." We parents do imagine the story in the name we choose, then nature /nurture writes the rest of the story!! I am not sure how this will continue to thread through all my latest ideas for new art and products but I DO want to explore it as a core value in my business. Hurray for you and all your smart helpful ideas. I'll be reading.

Branding has always been something of an enigma to me, so I can definitely contribute questions. :)

First and foremost, what elements are key to establishing a successful brand? Brand and brand identity - separate entities or one in the same? When is it time to reevaluate your brand (and keep it from getting stale)?

I look forward to seeing your ideas on building a community around a biz blog, too!
